Who are we ?

Young soldiers of the great institution devoted to public service that is the Gendarmerie Nationale, Aymeric SAVARY and Kristian BOULINGUEZ will play a central part in the 600th anniversary of the battle of Azincourt that will take place in 2015.

 Gendarme Aymeric SAVARY
"Gallois de Fougières"

Currently, Aymeric SAVARY is a gendarme by profession, 24 years old, attached to squadron 25/1 of the mobile gendarmerie in MAISONS-ALFORT in Val-de-Marne. Holding a university diploma in History, and fascinated by the medieval world for nearly twenty years, Aymeric is a regular practitioner of medieval reenactments.

Gendarme adjoint de réserve Kristian BOULINGUEZ
"Jehan de Quesnes"

Kristian BOULINGUEZ is a gendarmerie reservist, also 24 years old, attached to the departmental gendarmerie of Vendée at LA ROCHE SUR YON. An amateur writer in the historical and fantasy genres ever since he was sixteen, Kristian has a keen interest in the evolution of the art of war and the study of military tactics throughout the centuries.

Between the two of them, they decided to relive the History of their institution which they hold close to heart, in order to better pay tribute to the fighters who died for France during this dark episode of the Hundred Years War, anchored in the collective French memory as a deep trauma.

Lovers of the history of their country ever since they were children, and desiring to learn more about the ancestors of their Army Corps, they determined to have Gallois de Fougières, provost of the marshals, considered the first gendarme to be killed in battle, rise from the past along with Jehan de Quesnes, one of his companions in arms. Both were killed in the battle of Azincourt on the 25th of October 1415.

For this occasion, these two soldiers, friends, as in the image of their 15th century counterparts, decided to take on the incredible project of incarnating these two characters respectively, who fell in battle with heroic bravery against the english arrows.

For these two young gendarmes, honored by the interest the National Gendarmerie and the National Medieval Historical Centre of Azincourt has in them, they are duty-bound to be serious and rigourous in bringing back to life these two illustrious heroes of the battle of Azincourt.
